Darnell "Poppa D" Sharpless

Greetings!
Allow me to
introduce myself.

I am A. Darnell “Poppa D” Sharpless.
I have had the pleasure of being a full
member of the Greensboro Buffalo Soldiers
since December 12, 2009 and gladly
accepted the position of President
of the club on September 14, 2013.

My reason for joining the Buffalo Soldiers was to combine my love for riding with my passion for serving the community. As members, we have the opportunity to perpetuate the legacy of the Buffalo Solider throughout our community.

Family Status: Married (Marilyn), with
two children and two lovely
grandchildren. Occupation: Human Resources.
Other hobbies: Golfing and Hunting.

Marvin "Jazz" Mckinney

Victoire and I, Marvin “Jazz” McKinney would like to say “Greetings" to all visitors and returning guests. We are located in Sanford, NC, married for 30 years and have two children.

My passion for cycle riding began at 17, when the Honda Z50 Mini Bike became this Florida child’s Xmas dream
(ask me about that story when you have a chance… Fast forwarding, I’ve owned three motorcycles and my current one is the Goldwing.

I joined the Buffalo Soldiers to continue service of my country (Retired Army), but this time around on a more State/Local level. Besides, giving back is a calling that I am encouraged by.

I enjoy riding rolling hills, attending barbecues and meeting wonderful people.

I am proud to be an Associate member of the Greensboro Buffalo Soldiers.

My handle is "Jersey Girl" because of course, I hail from New Jersey. However; in 2005, moving to NC was a great decision. I met my husband and many new friends. Taking part in the Greensboro Buffalo Soldier community events and traveling to take part in other Buffalo Soldier events with my husband "Booster" aka "Van" is one of my highlights.

Between the two of us we have 6 children and many grandchildren. I retired from Verizon Communications in 2003 but placed myself back out in the workplace to keep busy. I am empowered and excited to hold the position of Planning Chair and hope that the next two years will be innovative and beneficial to the club and more importantly to the community.
